We ordered Stairway to Chicken, Every Eggs You Make, and Waffle Like Jagger because… how could you not with those names 😭
Presentation-wise, everything looked really good when it came out!!
The Everything Eggs was super creamy, rich, and probably the safest choice out of the three.
The Stairway to Chicken had a really crispy coating, but the whole dish itself was a bit dry for me personally. Could add more sauces in it.
BUT the Waffle Like Jagger… this one saved the whole meal 🧇
Crispy, soft, and just hits that perfect sweet spot. Definitely my favourite.
If you’re coming here, I’d say go for the waffle and share the rest with friends 👀

If you can’t pick between breakfast and lunch then why not brunch 😃
The golden roasted croissant was loaded with smoked salmon, smashed egg salad filling and topped with that popping flying fish roe 🥐 The miso salmon was slightly crispy and the corn fritters were in perfect bite size. And of course, we had to finish off with the tiramisu waffle (layer of chocolate mascarpone, ladyfinger and waffle) Make sure to not add in all the chocolate drizzle if you prefer not so sweet 😅

I usually don’t love corn fritters but I LOVE THEM HERE! And their yakult watermelon is so refreshing and amazing!

If you grew up in Sydney, you already know Henry Lee’s was that café. The OG Tumblr / early IG brunch spot in Redfern where everyone went for aesthetic food pics — and honestly, it still holds up 🎞️
The space has that industrial warehouse feel but done in a softer, contemporary way. Lots of natural light floods the outdoor patio, and the umbrellas give just enough shade so you can sit there comfortably for hours without feeling like you’re roasting 🌞
Drinks first — the strawberry matcha 🍵 had that earthy matcha base balanced with a subtle berry sweetness, and it looked so pretty layered. The sakura jelly lemonade was light, slightly floral and refreshing, with the jelly adding a fun texture 🌸
Food-wise, my favourite was the Sobalicious with added miso salmon 🍣 The green soba noodles were light and refreshing, tossed in a way that didn’t feel heavy at all. The miso salmon was flaky, tender and glazed beautifully — it paired so well with the noodles when you wanted something fresh but still filling.
Rice Rice Baby was definitely the heartier option. It felt comforting and savoury, layered with flavour and really satisfying if you’re after something more substantial. On the sweeter side, Waffle Like Jagger 🥞 was indulgent and playful — crispy edges, soft inside, and plated in that classic Henry Lee’s aesthetic way that makes you want to take photos before eating.
Definitely one of my favourite brunch spots in Sydney which I’ll frequently return to. Thank you for having me (∩˃o˂∩)♡

The oceans 11 is generous and elegantly plated, while the waffles with cream, rose petals, and espresso shot on the side make for a fun and indulgent finish. Fun fact: was the very first post I made on my foodie account and it’s safe to say it’s still one of my favourite cafes in Sydney. It’s been a while since I came back and I was pleasantly surprised it’s the same quality as I remember! ✨
The Fritter Sweet Symphony came with seared miso salmon and crispy corn fritters. Pairing this with the fresh avo, onsen egg and creamy hollandaise sauce, it was such an amazing flavour combination.
Waffle like Jagger gave off that classic tiramisu but in the form of waffles! It was nicely balanced with the bitterness of the drizzled coffee and sweetness of the espresso chocolate cream and berries.
Now Stairway to Chicken was such a unique dish and definitely my favourite! It involved crunchy prawn toast with a layer of mince, topped with moist fried chicken and prosciutto bits. The flavour was amazing and it wasn’t too heavy either as the lettuce gave it a bit of freshness. I absolutely recommend this dish!
Henry Lee’s is just somehow able to nail their flavour combos and balance out their dishes so well! It still holds a place in my top 3 cafes.✨
