What people say
Italian restaurants are known for their delicious food, warm hospitality, and inviting atmosphere. Matteo Downtown on Bond Street in Sydney is no exception. This Italian restaurant has quickly become a favorite among locals and tourists alike, thanks to its delectable wood-fired pizzas and authentic Italian dishes.
One of the standout features of Matteo Downtown is the passion that chef Mario De Simone and head pizza chef Marco Terracciano bring to their craft. They use only the freshest ingredients to create mouth-watering pizzas that are cooked to perfection in a wood-fired oven. Whether you're in the mood for a classic Margherita or something more adventurous like the Diavola with spicy salami, you won't be disappointed.
But Matteo Downtown isn't just about pizza. Their menu also features a range of traditional Italian dishes like pasta, risotto, and seafood. Each dish is prepared with care and attention to detail, ensuring that every bite is bursting with flavor.
In addition to their delicious food, Matteo Downtown also offers a range of seasonal cocktails that are perfect for sipping on while enjoying your meal. Their Magic Matteo autumn cocktail is a particular standout, featuring watermelon-infused Ketel One vodka, watermelon extract, mint agave, and lemon juice.
If you're looking for something extra special, be sure to check out their Pride Month Drag Bottomless Lunch experience every Saturday in June. It's an opportunity to enjoy delicious food, free-flowing drinks, and be entertained by some of the city's best drag performers.
Overall, Matteo Downtown is an excellent choice for anyone looking for an authentic Italian dining experience in Sydney. With its delicious food, warm hospitality, and inviting atmosphere, it's no wonder this restaurant has become such a popular destination.
