The month-long celebration as per Presidential Proclamation 469 takes place to promote, preserve, and ensure the transmission of vast Filipino culinary traditions to the present and future generations, as well as to provide support to farmers, fisher folks, and to the rest of the agricultural and aquacultural communities.

Let us all get together and cherish our cultural heritage thru our diverse and yet, very unique cuisine.

Filipino Food Month is spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture - Philippines, Department of Tourism - Philippines, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement.

Somebody requested for me to bake coconut macaroons and honestly I couldn't remember the last time I had them. But challenge accepted and here they are!

Coconut macaroons (not to be confused with those dainty french macarons) are one of the many favorite Filipino delicacies. These mini muffins are packed with sweet and delicious shredded coconut. Perfect company for your cup of coffee or tea or your choice of drink.
