14 Sutherland Shire clubs. $590,000 donated. Countless lives impacted 🫶
Yesterday, Tradies was proud to host the annual Sutherland Shire ClubGRANTS Presentation, bringing together representatives from local clubs, community organisations and Sutherland Shire Council. The annual presentation is a valuable opportunity to recognise and show support for the dedicated organisations in our local community, working every day to support those in need through connection, advocacy and inclusion.
Together, the participating clubs distributed $590,000 through our local ClubGRANTS to support a wide range of important causes, including youth homelessness, domestic and family violence, mental health, education, social inclusion and many other initiatives that strengthen our community.
To all the recipient organisations, thank you for the incredible work you do and the positive impact you make in the lives of so many people across the Shire. We are proud that ClubGRANTS funding can help support and extend the reach of your vital services.
A big thank you also to the 14 local clubs that contributed to this year's program. It's such a powerful example of the difference clubs make beyond their doors, helping local organisations deliver essential services and creating a stronger, more connected community for everyone 💙

Supporting those who support our community 🙌
Through this year's Sutherland Shire ClubGRANTS program, Tradies was proud to provide almost $200,000 in funding to eight outstanding organisations making a meaningful difference in the lives of people across the Sutherland Shire.
Congratulations and thank you to Be Unstoppable Foundation , The Family Co. , Morris Childrens Fund , Learning Links , Clontarf Foundation , Orana , One Meal - Sutherland Shire and Dandelion Support Network👏 Your dedication, compassion and commitment to supporting others helps create positive change every day, and we are proud to play a small part in supporting your life changing work.
Whether it's providing domestic and family violence support programs, improving education outcomes, empowering young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men, creating opportunities for inclusion, or helping people through challenging circumstances, each of these organisations is making a lasting impact where it's needed most.
We, and so many people in our community, are very grateful for everything you do and look forward to seeing the difference this funding will help create in the year ahead!

Today is R U OK Day - an important reminder to check in with the people around us, start meaningful conversations, and let others know they're not alone. It's a great campaign that we're proud to support each year across all our venues 💛
We also understand that supporting mental health isn't a 'once a year' event. It's a commitment we make every day. Over the other 364 days of the year, we work to create a workplace where people feel supported, connected and comfortable reaching out when they need help.
We're proud to have a qualified Mental Health First Aid Facilitator on our team, who recently attended the Mental Health First Aid Summit in Melbourne, bringing back valuable insights to help strengthen our approach to workplace wellbeing.
All of our leaders complete Mental Health First Aid training and regular refreshers, helping them build the skills and confidence to recognise when someone may be struggling and respond appropriately.
We also support our people through:
✅ Free, confidential third-party counselling services
✅Regular check-ins and meaningful conversations
✅Opportunities to connect outside of work through team social events
✅A culture that encourages openness, empathy and support
Today, we're encouraging everyone to ask the question, "Are you OK?" and genuinely listen to the answer. A simple conversation can make such a difference, any day of the year.
Check out U OK? for some great resources on how to start a life changing conversation 💛

♻️We've recently given our old uniforms (who remembers the pink shirts!?) a new lease on life!
Instead of sending them to landfill where they would leach chemicals into soil and water, release greenhouse gases during breakdown, and take decades or centuries to decompose, we partnered with specialist recycling organisations to ensure our retired uniforms continue to make a positive impact.
👕 15 bags of unbranded items were donated to We Are Loop, where they will be sorted and continue a new life in the circular economy and second hand clothing market.
🧶 212kg of branded uniforms were sent to Textile Recyclers Group, where they will be broken down into individual fibres and transformed into new yarns and textiles. From totes and rugs to insulation and vehicle seat filling, these materials will be given a second life in a wide range of useful products.
Recycling textiles instead of disposing of them in landfill helps reduce waste, conserve resources and contribute to a more sustainable future and we thank the teams from We are Loop and Recyclers Group for the excellent sustainable services they provide!
