A centuries-old bread tradition, brought to the Shaffa table.
Our simit is braided by hand, baked fresh at 400°C and served with bone marrow velouté, alongside lahmajun, burnt peppers and the flavours we grew up around.

For Broadsheet Dine Out, we’re bringing a childhood favourite to the table: Chocolate-Halva Babka, inspired by the one Erez grew up eating in his grandmother’s kitchen.

Lunch Menu at ours is getting a refresh.
Guided by the season and inspired by classic Levantine baking, it’s a menu best enjoyed with your hands and shared around the table. Expect Simit Bagel with Bone Marrow Velouté, Lahmajun loaded with spiced lamb, and plenty of dips, sauces and good things in between.
Launching Saturday, 1 August. Book ahead and come hungry.

A new sweet ending has arrived.
Our Halva Mousse brings together silken pistachio and cardamom cream, layered between delicate kataifi crisps, and finished with caramelised pistachios and rose petals.

To close our five-year milestone, we wanted to share a little more of the story behind Shaffa — and how we found our home at 80 Albion Street.
It has been a long journey, with plenty of challenges along the way. But looking back, we feel incredibly grateful for how far we’ve come, the family we’ve built, and the guests who now know Shaffa as a place to return to for bold, modern Middle Eastern plates.
Thank you to our chefs, our team, and every guest who has been part of the journey. Shaffa has always been built by people who believe in the vision.

NEW ON THE MENU: ROCKEFELLER OYSTERS
As winter finally settles in, our menu welcomes something warm, spicy, and made for the season.
Oysters dressed in Shaffa-style Middle Eastern Rockefeller, broiled just enough for the sauce to bubble gently over the top. Simple in form, but layered where it matters — green herbs, charred spring onion, preserved lemon, harissa, and burnt butter.

To reach the middle eastern restaurant located on Albion Street in Sydney, there are several options for public transport. The nearest train station is Central Station, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the destination. There are also multiple bus stops along Albion Street that service various routes.
For those driving to the restaurant, there is limited street parking available on Albion Street and surrounding streets. Alternatively, there are several paid parking lots within walking distance of the restaurant.
Additionally, it should be noted that Albion Street is a one-way street running east to west.
