We’re on the hunt for an experienced Café All-Rounder / Sandwich Maker to join the Toby’s Milkbar family!
We’re a fast-paced sandwich bar serving up quality sandwiches, burgers, coffee and good vibes. We need someone who’s reliable, hardworking and knows their way around a café.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
* ☕ Barista experience is a MUST – confident making quality coffee.
* 🥪 Sandwich making & food preparation skills – experience in a café or kitchen is highly preferred.
* 😁 Excellent customer service – friendly, welcoming and confident dealing with customers.
* 🧠 Common sense & initiative – someone who can think for themselves, solve problems and get things done without constantly being told.
* ⚡ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment – stay organised and efficient during busy periods.
* 💪 Strong work ethic – punctual, reliable and willing to get stuck into any task.
* 🧼 Cleanliness & attention to detail – maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.
* 🤝 Team player – positive attitude, good communication and willing to help wherever needed.
THE ROLE:
You’ll be doing a bit of everything – making coffees, preparing sandwiches, taking orders, serving customers, handling food prep, cleaning and helping keep the café running smoothly.
We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, uses their initiative and doesn’t need to be micromanaged.

Receiving over half your brand-new furniture damaged just THREE DAYS before opening.
Because apparently opening a second café wasn’t stressful enough already. 🫠
At this point, all we can do is laugh, sort it out and keep moving.

THE SIDE OF OPENING A BUSINESS YOU DON’T ALWAYS SEE 😅🔨
We’ve been sharing all the exciting parts of bringing our new Toby’s Milkbar to life, but trust us… it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. 😂
There have been plenty of unexpected setbacks, stressful days and last-minute changes along the way.
But that’s all part of the journey, and we wanted to show you the reality behind opening a business, not just the finished product.
We’re almost at the finish line, and despite all the headaches, we wouldn’t change a thing. 💙

It’s been a massive transformation, but everything is finally starting to come together.
From what we walked into on day one to what this place looks like now… it’s pretty crazy to see. 🥹

THE FLOORING MIGHT BE OUR FAVOURITE PART SO FAR 😮💨💙💛
We wanted Toby’s #2 to feel like Toby’s from the second you walk through the door — and these floors definitely understood the assignment 😂
Huge shoutout to our brother Lucas from LBK SURFACE SOLUTIONS for bringing our slightly crazy idea to life.
The transformation is well and truly underway… wait until you see everything come together 👀🔨

RENOVATION UPDATE PT. 1: BATHROOM EDITION 🚽🔨
Safe to say… these bathrooms needed some love 😂 One of them had even been turned into a makeshift freezer room, complete with freezers sitting on milk crates. 😭
Everything had to go, so we stripped it back and started fresh — new flooring, refreshed walls, new vanity and a proper bathroom again.
Slowly but surely, Toby’s #2 is coming together. 💙
