When can bub actually start solids?

Honestly, it’s around six months, and not before four. But the signs matter way more than the date on the calendar.

Can they sit up with a bit of support, and hold their head up? Are they watching you eat, maybe even reaching for your plate? And when you pop a bit of food in, does it actually stay in, or does it come straight back out?

If you’re ticking those off, good to go. Start small, like a teaspoon or two. Go iron-rich foods first, and just do one new food at a time.

And don’t stress about the funny faces. That’s usually just a new taste, not a no.

I’ve put the full guide up on the blog, link in bio.

Starting solids? Iron is the first thing to think about. By around 6 months, babies’ iron stores start running low, and red meat, beans and lentils (with some vitamin C) all help. Here’s a quick rundown, and how we think about it in our kitchen.

Woke up on the Today show this morning, talking about the real stuff. Freight, rent, insurance, and fighting suppliers every week so I can keep making fresh baby food without cutting corners.

I make it in small batches in Arncliffe, snap freeze it and get it out to you quick. No shelf-stable, no shortcuts.

The mums and dads sharing us, telling their stories and sending us orders are what keeps this going. If you’ve ever fed your little one Tiny Beets, a share genuinely helps.

How our Greek style beef meatballs get from the kitchen to your freezer.

We wash the herbs and spinach, blend the herbs and fold them through our beef, then mix it all together. Roll, cook, rapidly cool to keep them fresh, portion into trays and freeze.

Finger food that’s easy for little hands, from 6 months.

Why do we use Atlantic salmon bellies in our baby food when we could just use the whole fish?

The belly has a lot more fat in it, and that’s a good thing for little ones. More omega-3s, which help with brain development, plus a healthy fat they can really use.

We get it fresh every week.

Chef-made in Australia, for little ones who deserve the good stuff.

September’s done and I just finished packing the last orders. Thank you to everyone who ordered this month 🙏

Compared to July we’re up 18%, our biggest day was 23 orders, and we passed 400 reviews on the website at about 4.8 stars. Thank you to everyone who’s left one.

October’s going to be a big one. Got a lot planned.

Send us your photos and videos of your little ones eating Tiny Beets and we’ll reward you if we can use them. DM or comment and I’ll come back to you.
