Valentine’s Day is this Monday! Bring your loved one for a loving cup of coffee and sit at our beautiful grounds.
So who was St Valentine? According to history, he was a Christian priest and physician who died a martyr in 270 AD. Now how did he become patron saint for lovers..? For the answer we turn more to folklore...
According to tradition, St. Valentine signed a letter “from your Valentine” to his jailer’s daughter, whom he had befriended and healed from blindness. Another common legend states that he defied the emperor’s orders and secretly married couples to spare the husbands from war.
