50 & 60 year members!
Last week, we celebrated the milestones of members who have consecutively been part of our club and 50 and 60 years.
Our CEO Col and Chairperson Judy Gribble, along with the Board of Directors hosted an afternoon with these long valued members in our Pretty Beach Room.

Named in honour of Charles John Grace, affectionately known to all as “Chica”, this bar celebrates the life and legacy of a truly remarkable man. A beloved local identity, Chica was known as a gentle giant with a great sense of humour, a warm heart, and the qualities of a true gentleman.
Many afternoons were spent sharing a b**r and a laugh with friends in the old Men’s Bar and later the Krait Bar, making the Club a special part of his life. Chica’s Bar pays tribute to his enduring connection to the Club, the RSL Sub-Branch, and the wider community.
A proud World War II Veteran and recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), Chica dedicated countless years to serving others. Alongside his wife Jean, who lived just behind the VVA building on Ocean View Road, he became a respected and familiar figure within the community. His generosity extended beyond service, as he patiently mentored local youth, offering guidance, encouragement, and compassion to generations of young people.
Chica’s Bar stands as a place of friendship, respect, and community spirit, reflecting the values that Charles John Grace embodied every day. We invite you to raise a glass to a man whose legacy continues to inspire and whose memory will always hold a special place in our hearts.

📱 Ettalong Diggers is officially a DV Safe Phone collection point!
We’re proud to launch this initiative on Purple Friday. Bring in your old mobile phones, charger cords and wall plugs and drop them into our donation box to help support people affected by domestic and family violence.
DV Caseworkers from CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay will also be onsite from 10:30am–12:30pm to answer questions about their services and available support. A private room will be available for sensitive conversations.
💜 Wear something purple and join Ettalong Diggers in saying NO to domestic and family violence and YES to positive, respectful relationships.

On Friday, a team representing Ettalong Diggers, consisting of Matt, Ben, Kim and Central Coast Vietnam Veteran Eric, proudly took part in the RSL LifeCare Central Coast Veteran & Family Hub Charity Golf Day at Shelly Beach Golf Club.
💙 Ettalong Diggers was proud to support this wonderful initiative as a Hole Sponsor, helping raise vital funds to support veterans and their families.
A huge congratulations to the team at RSL LifeCare Central Coast Veteran & Family Hub for organising such a fantastic fundraiser and bringing the community together in support of those who have served our country.

An update from Alec in Papua New Guinea on the Kokoda Trail.
After a long ten days we are finally boarding on our way home. Cooper and myself would like to say what an incredible experience the Kokoda track has been. We were blessed with some amazing weather.
The terrain was difficult but we both made it through with some hurdles along the way!
Yesterday we crossed the finish line at Kokoda. We are both very proud of how far we have come both as individuals and as team players.

From there, you can get on a bus that goes along The Esplanade and alight at the nearest bus stop. Alternatively, if you are driving, you can park your car in one of the several parking lots available along The Esplanade.
