The Black Forest- layers of sour cherry syrup-soaked chocolate cake, brandy cream, rammed full of sour cherries
Last time we made it, someone (from Black Forest) told me this cake goes waaay back to 1918 or 1819.. not sure which ๐
But more to the point.. you CAN order whole cakes this week. DM / email

As we head deeper into cake weather, TWO cakes this week ๐งฃ Larger slabs of both can be preordered (DM/email)
One is a light fluffy sponge, fruit, cream & a tart raspberry buttercream. Very pink ๐ฉท
The chocotorta is the opposite- rich & intensely chocolatey. Dark cocoa biscuits brushed with coffee. Layered w/ a dulce de leche + sour cream. Very brown ๐ค

Many cannoli. ONE cannolo.
Cocoa cannoli shell. Filled w/ ricotta, hazelnut liqueur, espresso, dark chocolate. Piped fresh every 30mins so they're still crisp when you get'em. To be eaten real soon obvs..

Raspberry-vanilla slice.
Vanilla custard, raspberry cream, raspberry glaze. Sweet & the right amount sour. Both Sat & Sun. Lots of larger slabs (as pictures). Some slices too.
Mothering Sunday may be slightly busy. But if you're happy to celebrate on the earlier side, come by tomorrow- Sat. Same menu, just a bit more breathing room.

Mother's day preorders:
- preorders close Sat 7pm
- all our staples can be preordered. The specials- first come first served ๐
- there WILL be a separate line for preorders... (when picking up, you CAN add on coffee or anything else)
Raspberry vanilla slice. She's pink, sweet, a little tart & very smooth. Puff pastry sandwiching a layer of vanilla custard & raspberry cream.. raspberry glaze on top. Both single slices & larger slabs.. all 3 days.
The Shakshuka JB - roasted capsicum, onion, garlic... gently spiced, lots of fresh herbs, an egg on top. In a sesame crusted fluffy bread.
Baguettes- the wholemeal khorasan 3rd week running. I'm loving it.. but conscious it might be a bit too intensely wholemealy for some. Feedback welcome ๐

๐จCan I swap out 1 of the flavours in the mixed bag of 4?
We're afraid not cos it gets too chaotic to manage. But if you come early enough to pick up your preorder, give us a wink & a nod and IF we have any extras of the other flavours, we'll see what we can do. No guarantees!
๐ง Will you have any for walk-ins?
Yes! That's the plan anyway. And yes, you can get singles then. What time will we sellout? Your guess is as good as ours! Will post on stories when we do.
๐ง Any chances of extending preorders beyond Sunday?
None! Cos for one thing, we're trialling a new preorder system & I've no idea how to extend preorders even if we wanted to ๐ซ

We all scream ๐ฆ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ฅ๐ฆ
Yeah it's getting progressively colder but feels a sudden burst of inspiration to keep producing frozen treats. And frankly I prefer ice creams in the winter cos they don't get gloopy in a minute. So here we are.
Having eaten substantial amounts of all 4 flavours she's making this 2nd edition, I can confirm they are INSANE ๐คฏ
1. Smoked maple-pecan | lace cookie, smoked maple icecream, salted buttered pecans ๐
2. Mint choc chip | choc biscuit, mint ice cream, choc swirl ๐ฑ
3. Neapolitan | choc biscuit, vanilla ice cream, strawberry ice cream ๐จ
4. Sour cherry & almond | almond macaron, sticky sour cherries swirled in vanilla-almond ice cream ๐

Preorders close this Sunday, 3 May (or sooner if we're sold out of the no. allocated to packs of 4 sooner). Our numbers are limited by freezer space. And while we have a giant one, I wouldn't sleep on it..
You CAN just walk in on the day and get singles. Will post when sold out.. and hopefully it won't be in 30mins like the last time.

Essentially a Bounty bar with a glow up
Salted cocoa shortbreads sandwiched with dark chocolate ganache & coconut "fudge". Dipped in 54% chocolate
Pictured is one of several that the team "accidentally" broke today... which meant they landed in the staff snax section
Inspired by something did which has been stuck in my head a while.

Black Forest cake.. no intro needed
The cherries are just enough sour to take the edge off the sweetness. The sponge dark chocolate. All in all, hopefully better balanced than the memories it evokes.
And yes, we're open tomorrow, Saturday.. (with a very large number of Anzac biscuits among other things)

Olive sours are back. And the baguettes will use khorasan flour again

Kaya- a coconut custard infused w fresh Pandan leaves. Incredibly fragrant. Gently sweet & appropriately salty
