🍺 Oktoberfest at Rhodes Quarter: 300 hungry staff, one very long queue. 🌭
CBRE put on an Oktoberfest-themed lunch for Rhodes Quarter employees, and the queue wrapped around the building for 1.5 hours until everything was served.
B**r on tap, pretzels and fresh German street food served from our Kombi: that’s a lunch with a proper Oktoberfest buzz! 🇩🇪

🍷 A big day at the Hills Food & W**e Festival! 🌭
Last Sunday, we spent the day at Bella Vista Farm serving German street food from our Kombi. Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a German sausage and shared in the lovely festival atmosphere.
A lovely surprise was running into the new owners of Kombi Keg, the mobile bar business we used to own and sold to them late last year. It was so good to see it out and about and in good hands.

🥨 German fact of the week: the country keeps a register of its own bread. 🇩🇪
Germany's bread culture sits on the country's national inventory of intangible cultural heritage, and its Bread Register lists more than 3,200 bread specialities. Rye, spelt, sourdough, seeded, dark, light : bread is treated as a craft, with fierce regional loyalties.
It shows at the table too. Abendbrot is the German evening meal of bread, cheese and cold cuts. In Bavaria, a Brotzeit is bread, meat, cheese and a drink, taken slowly and properly.
Our giant Bavarian pretzels come from that same tradition: simple ingredients, a slow rise, warm and salted. 🥨

🏉 What a day at Henson Park! 🌭
We spent last Sunday at the B**r Footy Food Festival, serving the Swans v Carlton crowd on a gorgeous spring afternoon. The hill was packed with Swans fans in red!
Big German sausages cooked fresh to order from the Kombi all afternoon: bratwurst, smoky kransky and chilli-cheese kransky.
Even the Swans mascot stopped by the Kombi for one of our German sausages. 🐦🌭

🌭 A little German food history for your week: the Currywurst. 🇩🇪
Berlin, 1949. Herta Heuwer mixed ketchup and curry powder, traded from British soldiers, over a grilled sausage, and the Currywurst was born. She kept the original recipe famously to herself (it's said to still sit locked away in a bank vault) and served it from her stall for decades.
The rest is history: chopped sausage, curry-ketchup, a dusting of curry powder, and Germans arguing happily about exactly how it should be served ever since.

🥓🍳 Breakfast at Safetech, Wetherill Park. 🌭
We rolled the Kombi inside the workshop at Safetech's Wetherill Park site and cooked breakfast for the team while they had their company photo shoot.
Sausages, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and pretzels, all hot off the plancha and served straight to the crew. It went down an absolute treat. 🥨
Nothing beats a good, proper breakfast to start the work day, especially when someone else is cooking it.

🍻 **German fact of the week: they regulated b**r before they had a country.** 🇩🇪
Back in 1516, Bavaria laid down the **Reinheitsgebot**, the b**r purity law, long before Germany existed as a nation. It declared that b**r could be made from only water, barley and hops.
It's one of the world's most famous brewing traditions, and it's why German b**r tastes the way it does: clean, simple and seriously drinkable. 🍺

🍻 Oktoberfest on the worksite. 🌭🇩🇪
We set up at Arrow Capital Partners' Mt Kuring-gai estate, in partnership with Bendigo Bank, to host an Oktoberfest lunch for their tenants.
The Kombi rolled in, the grill fired up, and the crew came out in their hi-vis for a hot bratwurst and kransky, cooked fresh in front of them. Pretzels, sauces, plenty of napkins and a proper dose of German tradition dropped into the middle of a working day. 🥨
Tenant engagement is some of our favourite catering to do. A live food truck turns a lunch break into a gathering point, and everyone remembers it.
