The owner, Maria/Sol, used her hobby of baking to create a fundraiser for the victims of typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda in the Philippines. With the help of her cousins, they made and baked cupcakes with only three flavors: chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet. The response was overwhelming, raising funds in excess of $600 which were then used to purchase pallets of drinking water and distributed to the affected areas of the typhoon.
Since then, Cake Mi Amor has become well-known through word-of-mouth and referrals from family and friends. Customers continue to order and request their delicious cupcakes. In addition to cupcakes, Cake Mi Amor also offers edible toppers for cakes such as flower and petal designs.
