Café Cornerstone in Windsor is seeking a passionate chef or third-year apprentice to join our kitchen team.
We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with food, takes pride in preparation, cares about quality ingredients, and wants to keep developing their skills in a busy, hands-on kitchen.
You’ll work alongside Head Chef Hugo, with opportunities to learn, strengthen your cooking skills, and gain experience across café, takeaway, and more refined dishes.
The Role:
This casual/apprenticeship role offers 15–20 hours per week, with potential for additional hours.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing café food, completing mise en place, and cooking during busy service.
Friday night service, including burgers and takeaway food.
Weekend café service.
Maintaining a clean, organised kitchen.
Food preparation and stock rotation
Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
What we are looking for:
Apprentice Applicants:
Must be a third-year commercial cookery apprentice with a genuine passion for cooking and learning.
Strong work ethic and reliability
Good attitude and willingness to take direction
Pride in cleanliness, preparation, and presentation, with the ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with front of house.
Qualified/experienced applicants:
Minimum 2 years commercial kitchen experience
Strong basic cooking and preparation skills
Passion for quality ingredients and good food
Reliable and committed.
Able to work independently while also taking direction from the head chef
Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with front of house.
Availability
Weekday hours 7:00am – 3.00pm
Weekend hours 8:00am – 2.00pm
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability required, with potential for two weekday shifts.

We are seeking someone who love great coffee and has excellent customer service
Responsibilities
- Preparing quality coffee, inc fresh juice, milk shakes & frappes
- Taking orders and handling POS transactions
- Serving food and drinks to tables
- Resetting tables for service
- Maintaining a clean and organised café environment
- Setting up the outside area for service and op/cl registers
What we are looking for:
- At least one year as a barista
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Great customer service
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment when required
- Weekend availability
- Australian resident preferred
- Flexibility to work on events as required
What we are offering:
- 2-3 days per week, mainly weekends
- Ideal for uni students or semi retired
- Weekday hours 7:00am – 3:00pm
- Weekend 8:00am – 2.00pm
