Just a reminder that we focus on repairs rather than alterations to new clothes. We are planning a ‘take up a hem ‘ workshop by the sewing team-date to be confirmed.
Umbrellas were a favourite repair last week!

Happy Repairing from the team at Repair Cafe Sydney North! We had a wonderful party to celebrate 10 years of ‘Toss it! No way!’ repairing.
Our wonderful volunteers will be waiting for your repairs on Sunday 1 March.
We have a number of repair stations depending on who is available on the day: 5 gadget/electrical repairers, 2 jewellery and ceramic repairers, 4 sewing repairers, 2 shoe/bag/umbrella repairers, 2 sharpening/tool repairers.
If we are very busy we may restrict the number of repairs that you can have done at any station, just to make it equitable for everyone. Also we like to take time to share skills so it’s better to have one thing repaired and learn how to do it yourself, so you go home with a fixed item and a new skill!
Here’s a poem written by our fantastic front desk volunteer.
The front desk
They wait in line with hopeful face
Fingers crossed to get a place/
Why can’t we book on line they say
No takers for that job, OK/
Will she notice the pants are new
Make sure you keep them out of view/
Can only do one, not all ten
Not two at once…..Go round again
….So everyone will get a go
They’ll only take a minute though!!!
No zips in jeans no microwaves/
Make sure that dog of yours behaves/
No ceramics today, that’s next time/
We’ll see if they can make it chime/
I’ve a vacuum, jewellery clothes and wool/
Sorry all gadget slots are full
Some come because it saves a bob
But most says thanks so much/
Great job
