500 Days In The Wild follows the epic 6-year journey of filmmaker Dianne Whelan as she sets out to reconnect with nature and become the first person to travel the world's longest trail. The 24,000 km Trans Canada Trail stretches across the continent of North America, connecting the Atlantic, Arctic and Pacific oceans. It is the longest trail in the world. For six years filmmaker Dianne Whelan traveled the entirety of the land and water trails, the only person to ever accomplish this journey. 500 Days in the Wild recounts Dianne's journey by bike, canoe, skis, snowshoes and on foot and her cross-cultural visits with those who live close to the land. This feature doc culled from 800 hours of footage is an intricate weave of adventure film, personal reflection and stunning captures of wildlife and landscapes. Using humour, adventure, beautiful cinematography and a great soundtrack (including songs from Joni Mitchell, First Aid Kit, Xavier Rudd, and The Tragically Hip), 500 Days in the Wild will entertain audiences and inspire hope for the future. She started out alone, disillusioned with state of the world, to look for different ways of caring for the land and for each other. She ended the journey a bit wiser, more hopeful, in love and with a passion to share this story. Fri, 5 Jun, 7:30pm - 8:30pm AEST
Govindas
Darlinghurst NSW, Australia

If you’ve been craving a proper switch-off, the kind that actually quiets your mind and helps you sleep, this is for you.

Join us at the iconic Govindas for an incredibly special Gong Bath on the super comfortable recliners. You will simply lie down and let powerful gongs guide you into a state of profound rest. No movement. No talking. No “trying” to meditate. Just an hour where your only job is to rest.

The sound of the gongs works on the nervous system in a way that’s hard to explain but easy to feel. Many people describe it as:

the deepest rest they’ve had in months

finally feeling their body tension let go, leading to the BEST sleep of their year

leaving by floating out the door, so calm you'll forget your own name for a minute!

If stress has been lingering in your body, sleep hasn’t been great, or you’re simply curious about an experience that’s a little different, then this is a beautiful place for you.

Please bring:

A water bottle

Comfortable & warm clothes

Optional: a shawl or blanket for warmth or to cover the eyes

Please reach out if you have questions at [email protected]

We look forward to welcoming you into this calming and special space.

No experience necessary, just bring yourself and an open mind.

We recommend booking early to secure your spot as our every session sells out!

What people say

Vegetarian and vegan restaurants are becoming increasingly popular as people become more health-conscious and environmentally aware. Govindas, located on Darlinghurst Road in Sydney, is a shining example of a restaurant that offers delicious vegetarian and vegan options.

One of the best things about Govindas is their famous international buffet. The menu changes nightly but always includes a variety of tasty dishes such as Indian dahl soup, vegetable curry, baked penne pasta, lentil pie or potato au gratin, cauliflower pakoras, potato wedges, rice, poppadums, bread & a variety of salads, sauces and side dishes. What's even better is that they encourage you to visit the buffet as many times as you like throughout your evening with them - talk about value for money!

But it's not just the main course that's worth raving about at Govindas. Their dessert menu is equally impressive with options such as their famous cheesecake, creamy chocolate mousse, apple crumble and chocolate or strawberry sundaes. And let's not forget their world-famous mango and strawberry lassi - a heavenly fruity yogurt drink that's perfect for quenching your thirst.

The staff at Govindas are friendly and welcoming which adds to the overall dining experience. They also offer a large selection of both hot and cold drinks so you can find something to suit your taste buds.

Overall, if you're looking for a delicious vegetarian or vegan meal in Sydney then look no further than Govindas on Darlinghurst Road. With their famous international buffet and mouth-watering desserts, you won't be disappointed!
