This was the first ever hopper cooked at Riley St, done on a camping stove as it was still a building site and there was no gas. (As it turned out, we still wouldn’t have gas until the day before we opened…) This week you can have and have the last ones. Open Wednesday from 5pm and 12pm - 10pm Thursday to Saturday.

Sausage sizzle this Friday, 12pm until sold out. We have made a batch of Lankan lingus, a clove scented pork sausage. We will be cooking it out the front on our hibachi and serving it on fresh kade paan, buttered of course, with tamarind chilli sauce and a sweet and sour onion sambol. Only for takeaway but best enjoyed, mingling out the front with a drink in hand.

What people say
Sri Lankan restaurants are known for their bold and vibrant flavors, and Lankan Filling Station in Sydney's Darlinghurst neighborhood is no exception. This casual eatery has a laser focus on hoppers, a traditional Sri Lankan dish that consists of a bowl-shaped pancake made from fermented rice flour and coconut milk. The hoppers at Lankan Filling Station are crispy on the edges and soft and doughy in the center, making them the perfect vessel for an array of curries and sambols.
What sets Lankan Filling Station apart is their commitment to using high-quality ingredients to create authentic Sri Lankan flavors. From the fragrant spices to the fresh herbs, every dish bursts with flavor. And while hoppers may be the star of the show, there are plenty of other dishes on offer that are equally delicious.
