MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT
The time has come for us to hang up our chef hats and end a 33 year history.
Most of you would have been aware that Gloria's had been on the market since the arrival of our first child. The decision to put Gloria's on the market was based on wanting to spend more quality time with family, friends and especially our baby boy.
For almost 3 years we have been looking for the right person to take over and continue with Gloria's 33 year legacy but unfortunately no one stepped up to meet the challenge.
So it is with great sadness that we announce the end of the legacy.
The business fitout was sold but the new owners will not be continuing with the Portuguese restaurant theme.
The good thing is we kept the name, business profile and trade secrets so that in the future if we or someone else decides they would like to start it up again then it will be a lot easier.
At the same time we are excited about a new chapter in our lives where we will have the freedom to move, spend more time with family and have our weekends free to spend with friends.
We thank all our loyal customers over the last 33 years, our friends, family and staff that have helped in the creation, maintenance and support to have been able to build a 33 year legacy that not only reshaped Petersham, but reshaped the whole Portuguese community in Sydney to the Point that Petersham was renamed LITTLE PORTUGAL.
Glorias restaurant might have finished but the legacy will live on in our memories.
A big farewell from Glorias and the family and hope one day we can all cross paths again.
P. S. IF ANYONE HAS ANY PHOTOS OF GLORIA'S AND ANYTHING AROUND GLORIAS THEN PLEASE ADD THEM TO THE COMMENTS SO WE CAN ALL RELIVE THE MEMORIES. THANKS

We posted this in May this year and had some interest but due to covid lockdowns we decided to put it on hold till now.
Now that majority of businesses are re-opening we have decided to once again put Gloria's on the market and seek the right person/persons to carry on with this legacy and continue the great work that has been done.
Have you ever wanted to own and run your very own successful restaurant?
Gloria's is looking for new owners to continue with the 33 years of history, service, tradition and most importantly the love of Portuguese food.
All the hard work has been done and all that is required now is to enjoy the spoils. Business makes great profit and easy to run.
Current owner only works a few hours a week so new owners could just sit back and enjoy the profits or choose to work more hours and earn a lot more.
Restaurant is fully licensed and hours can also be extended to include morning/lunch cafe trade or late night wine bar.
For more info please msg us via social media or send email to [email protected] and we will respond ASAP.
We are open to reasonable offers.
Genuine interest only please.

What people say
Tapas bars and restaurants have become increasingly popular in recent years, and Gloria's Portuguese Tapas Restaurant in Sydney is a prime example of why. This tapas bar and restaurant offers a unique dining experience that combines the best of Portuguese cuisine with the traditional small plates format of tapas.
Gloria's has been serving up delicious Portuguese dishes since 1988, when owner Gloria Belinha first opened her doors to the local community. Since then, Gloria's has become a beloved institution in Petersham, known for its authentic flavors and warm hospitality.
One of the standout dishes at Gloria's is Bacalhau, or salted cod. This traditional Portuguese dish is a must-try for anyone looking to experience the true taste of Portugal. But there are plenty of other options on the menu as well, from grilled sardines to chorizo sausage to octopus salad.
What sets Gloria's apart from other tapas bars and restaurants is its commitment to quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods. Everything on the menu is made from scratch using fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. And the chefs at Gloria's take pride in preparing each dish with care and attention to detail.
Whether you're looking for a romantic date night spot or a lively place to catch up with friends over drinks and small plates, Gloria's Portuguese Tapas Restaurant is sure to impress. With its cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food, it's no wonder this restaurant has been a local favorite for over 30 years.
