Hi everyone,
I'm Eric, co-owner of DFK, and I’m currently fundraising for my beautiful wife Jessica who is battling breast cancer following from our earlier post.
The funds raised will help cover a large portion of Jessica’s medical expenses during her treatment.
A significant amount of our savings has already gone toward a targeted antibody drug ($6K+) for treating Jessica’s condition that is unfortunately not listed on the PBS, which means it isn’t covered by our private health insurance or Medicare.
If anyone would like to know more about the treatment or our situation, please feel free to DM me.
We also had to put our small business on hold for over a month so I could care for Jessica and our little ones during this difficult time. It’s been an incredibly challenging season for our family, but we’ve been doing our best to stay strong and positive through it all.
Recently, we were finally able to reopen our business after her first few weeks of treatment, and thankfully she’s been doing well so far.
We truly appreciate every bit of support, whether through small donations, sharing our fundraiser, or simply keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers. We also want others going through similar situations to know they’re not alone.

Hi everyone,
You may have noticed we’ve been a little quiet recently. We wanted to share that our family is currently going through a challenging time following Jess’s breast cancer diagnosis 😔
It’s been unexpected and not easy to process, but we’re incredibly thankful for the love and support around us, as well as the outstanding care and swift response from the medical professionals 💕
We’d also like to use this moment to raise awareness for breast cancer. For those impacted, it’s more than just a physical battle—it’s an emotional and mental journey that calls for patience, compassion, resilience, and strength.
Whether it’s prioritising your own health or encouraging someone you care about to do the same, please don’t hesitate to seek support and get checked.
For now, Dirty Fingers Kitchen will be temporarily closed until further notice, and we look forward to welcoming you all back when the time feels right.
