This is what we’re eating and drinking at Jounieh this weekend.

Château Musar Jeune Rouge from the Bekaa Valley is a medium bodied blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc with notes of spice and licorice. We’d recommend pairing it with our Grilled Spiced Kafta, charred spiced ground lamb with muhammara sauce and grilled mild banana peppers.

It also pairs beautifully with our Makanek and slow cooked lamb shoulder, so if you’re looking to explore Lebanese wine, chat to our sommelier to find the best pick for your meal.

What’s the occasion? You don’t need one.

Our freshly shucked Merimbula oysters are sourced from the NSW South Coast, 453km from Sydney. They have a bold mineral zing on the palate with a rich, creamy finish, and with summer just around the corner, there is no better place to enjoy them than harbourside at Walsh Bay.

Served with raspberry mignonette and paired perfectly with a glass of Lebanese white wine. This is what weekends at Jounieh were made for.

Weekend plating at Jounieh.

Our Kafta with charred spiced ground lamb, muhammara sauce and grilled mild banana peppers hits the table smoky and rich and is one of our most popular small plates.

Order it as part of a spread of smaller plates to share or add it to a bigger selection across the menu. Either way, it’s the dish your table will be fighting over.

This Sunday is International Cabernet Day and we have the wineup ready.

If it was up to us, we’d pair our cabernet selection with either our Makanek, pan seared spiced lamb sausages on a sizzling plate of caramelised onion, lemon, mint and pine nuts. Or our Kafta, charred spiced ground lamb with muhammara sauce and grilled mild banana peppers.

If you want to go bigger, our Shawarma and 5 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder are also perfect alongside a glass of cabernet. Chat to our sommelier to find the best bottle for your table.

This is how we roll our Warak Arish at Jounieh.

Vine leaves filled with rice and Middle Eastern spices, hand rolled and served as one of our most loved small plates. They are the perfect addition to any table, whether you are ordering them alongside our bigger dishes or as part of a mezza spread to share.

This is what we’re plating up at Jounieh this week 🦐

Our Grilled King Prawns, served with chilli and garlic, a saffron beurre blanc and sumac. They arrive at the table golden and sizzling and they are one of our most popular dishes from the seafood menu.

If you’re a seafood lover dining at Walsh Bay, this is the dish to order. Pair them with a glass of Lebanese white wine and a harbour view for the full experience.

This is what we’re eating and drinking at Jounieh this weekend.

Château Ksara Blanc de Blancs from the Bekaa Valley is a fresh, soft blend of Semillon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc with a textural, long lasting finish. We’d recommend pairing it with our Samke Harra, market fish in a mild chilli tahini sauce with capsicum, coriander and pine nuts.

It also pairs beautifully with fresh oysters and grilled meats, so if you have been wanting to explore Lebanese wine, chat to our sommelier to find the best pick for your meal.

This is what we’re plating up on cold Sydney nights.

Our Makanek, pan seared spiced sausages served on a sizzling plate of caramelised onion, lemon, mint and pine nuts, hit the table hot, making them the perfect winter warmer from our small plates menu.

Order them alongside our other starters for a spread of smaller plates to share or mix them in with dishes from across the menu. If you have not tried them yet, this is the dish to add to your next order.
