A Coffee Close to Our Heart
In October 2025, our co-founder Bobby was invited to judge the Narino Cup of Excellence Competition. Bobby was one of 18 people worldwide invited to judge the competition. 30 micro lot coffees were blind tasted and evaluated in search of the Number 1 Lot. At the final Auction, we banded together with two other Australian coffee roasters to purchase and share this lot of coffee. A special moment highlighting how the specialty coffee community can work together.

New single origin in the lineup.
Karana is a natural process lot from the Kintamani highlands in Bali, grown at 1,200 metres by 377 smallholder farmers. With candy sweetness, dark chocolate, and a tropical fruit finish—there's enough range here to work across brew methods.
The farms are shade-grown, chemical-free, and composted. It's coffee grown the way it was always meant to be grown.
Limited release. And definitely our current favourite.

Milk stretched way too hot… with zero technique
It was just… coffee.
Now at Nine Yards, we roast everything in-house, dial it in daily, and actually give a damn about every cup.

From the mountains of Nariño, Colombia 🇨🇴
We purchased this special Gesha at the Nariño Cup of Excellence auction during our coffee trip to Colombia last year, and we’re excited to finally share it.
Produced by Diego Arturo Aroca at Finca Guayacán in La Unión, Nariño, grown at 1,800 MASL and finishing 13th place at the regional auction.
Elegant, complex, and a true reflection of Nariño’s incredible terroir.

From rare Gesha varieties to boundary-pushing fermentation methods, this is coffee at its absolute peak. Only tiny amounts ever exist, and even fewer people get to taste it.
