We left ordinary behind in 2001. Real ingredients. House-roasted meats. Signature sauces. That's been the standard ever since.

Okay so I never go on rants but I’m so pi**ed off I need to vent on here. Firstly, has anyone ordered from Uber Eats recently? Now has anyone received cold or poor quality food from Uber eats? If the answer to both is yes which I would guess most people have experienced at least once, let me explain how this company, a company which last year made over $14 billion US dollars in revenue operates. My god, where to begin? There is no regulation with how the delivery “partners”, which are the drivers who deliver your food, are hired to work for Uber. Send in your documents and that’s it. This is an issue because there is no training, no expectations on personal presentation, how to talk to restaurant partners or customers. How can it be that this company cares so little about their customers that they set zero standards for the people working for them. Often drivers show up to my restaurant late to pick up orders, or come wanting to pick up two orders, one of which is ready to leave and the other which is still being prepared. In my restaurant I only send one with a driver at a time but I know many restaurants who let the food sit waiting for the next order. The drivers show up in thongs, singlets looking unprofessional and these people are the face of a billion dollar company? Well recently I’ve noticed a big drop in the number of drivers available in my area, and I did some digging and found out that Uber recently changed its pay structure which meant a drop of 40% in the potential earnings of their delivery partners, meanwhile they still charge up to 35% for restaurants to use their platform. Which for a lot of small business is your profit margin. Yet everyone is using Uber Eats for convenience so we have no choice. Man I could go on and on but at the end of the day, my message is this. Please support your local businesses by ordering directly from them. Not just for me and my store. During this time we are all struggled to keep up with the demand during peak times and the very quiet, quiet times. If you can have patience during the peak breakfast, lunch and dinner rush then order directly with the cafes, restaurants and fast food outlets, pick up yourself if you can, that’s the best thing you can do to help invigorate the economy in your local areas. And the small business owners of those businesses will thank you for it. Uber “Eats” our profits and when we call the customer care lines for help we get none. Often told there isn’t anything they can do.
Sorry rant over for tonight. Thank you to all my customers who order directly from the Crust Website order call our Dee Why store directly. I love taking your calls and greatly appreciate your support and patience during this time.
Steve out ✌🏽
