Pronto Pizza Camden

Pronto Pizza Camden Pronto Pizza Camden was a family owned business located in the heart of Camden since 2006. They provided a variety of food options including pizzas, pastas, and ribs. However, unfortunate circumstances led to the permanent closure of Pronto Pizza Camden. The business suffered extensive damage due to water flooding and subsequent damage to equipment, walls, and floors. Despite efforts to assess the damage and restore operations, it became increasingly challenging for the business owner, Jenny, to overcome these setbacks. Pronto Pizza Camden is no longer in operation.

Note: This business has been permanently closed.

It is with great sadness that PRONTO PIZZA has closed for good.

To all my staff - thank each and every one of you for your dedication.

Just to clarify things so different stories are not spread through the town. I paid my rent religiously on time over 17 years of trade.

Due to the damage by the rain deluge to all my equipment on January 30th this year - my insurance company taking ages to start removing my equipment to be either repaired or replaced. Still nothing completed yet.

The worst was that strata management insurance was declined which in turn my landlord blamed all the tenants for this event. It was not the tenants fault that strata neglected the upkeep of the complex resulting in months of holdups just waiting for an answer. Strata refusing to take tenants calls - resulting in months and months of holdups because of strata.

My shop was full of mould, so was all my equipment - saturated by the rain deluge - plus stagnated water laying in the shop for 7 weeks until it finally dried up - this caused mould through the entire shop.

I was guided by my solicitor to abide by my lease - which I did - I did not pay rent until the shop was deemed tradable again. If strata and the landlord had been proactive and fixed all the shops I would then been able to reopen.

Just to let everyone know some shops have still not been completely fixed.

My shop was the worst hit. At the start of this fiasco I asked my landlord via the property manager (who I might add has been wonderful through this entire process) to come to the shop and see the extent of the damage - he declined - too busy.

I wont go into detail the nasty phone call I received from the landlord last month. Very unprofessional and I told him those exact words.

So to all my wonderful customers and staff over the last 17 years it saddens me to end this way but it is totally out of my control.

To be honest I’m ANGRY. I’m angry at strata the most, I’m angry at the landlord, plus I’m angry with my insurance company.

I have been informed that the shop is up for sale. All I can say is buyer beware.

I will still be visiting Camden to catch up with friends. So hopefully I will see some of you to say hello.

I just want thank everyone for your kindness, friendship and loyalty over 17 years.

Kindest regards
Jenny

Well here I am now the 4th of March and not one single thing has been done to my shop plus all the other 8 shops that are damaged.

It seems it’s an strata insurance hold up.

I have another meeting with my insurer Tuesday afternoon- they are finally going to take an inventory of all the damaged equipment etc.

That could have been done the first week of the second week. By next Tuesday it’s going in to the sixth week.

I wish I could say I was having a break but I’m either stuck at the shop waiting for assessors, on the computer filling out numerous forms (several times) or I’m constantly on the phone trying to get updates.

To all of you that know Paul - he had a really bad fall and will be going in to rehab for at least 6 to 8 weeks. But he will be ok.

I hope soon I will be able to post some good news. I just need all these insurance companies to get their act together. It’s very frustrating when it’s beyond your control. But I still have to pay all the premiums.

But lots of people who had flood damage would be able to add their stories.

Maybe Camden should all be one voice.

Everyone stay safe and hopefully I will be back after Easter.

Pronto Pizza latest information on progress on status of damage to the shop.

I’m just meeting with a number of insurance assessor’s - hopefully only a few more to go.

Damage to my shop and equipment is extensive.

There is still water sitting at the back of the shop and it seems that no one is too interested in pumping it out.

Maybe todays inspection will amount to an answer.

It’s not only my shop - several other tenants are affected - we have our little meetings. We are all in the same boat / no pun intended.

It’s raining again how unusual.

Will update when I have some news.

Keep dry

Jenny
