A couple of things ready to hit the wine bar in a week or so!
Octopus "minestroni" with butter beans and nduja.
Smoked trout pate, fennel pickled in grapefruit juice, all on top of beautiful sourdough!
Keep an eye out for the new winter wine bar menu dropping. We'll probably do a give away when it does!

TURKISH EGGS!!
According to the kind man on google today, this dish is just a bowl of fried eggs in oil...
What it actually is, is 2 free range eggs cooked in a n'duja and confit tomato butter, stracciatella cheese, pickled ecshalot, herbs and focaccia!
This dish has evolved over the years and gets better every time!
Served 7 days a week during the cafe hours!

David Blackmore Wagyu blade, seasoned, cooked overnight and served with a tonnato sauce, capers and herbs!
stracciatella (definitely the best in Sydney) served with our fennel, lemon and brandy jam!
Also both served in our $45 a head set menu!

Bit of a strange one here....
Our amazing waitress and family friend .world96 happened to take a booking from a lady named Louisa who came into the restaurant today. She forgot to take a contact number or anything (might have had one too many lemonades last night).
Funny thing is, we are not actually open at 6.15 on a Tuesday.
So here we are on Instagram trying to find someone by the name of Louisa who made a booking for this coming Tuesday!

Prawn cocktail kettle chips!
Perfect snack with a beer for the last few days of sun this weekend!
Prawns, baby gem lettuce, pickled onions kettle chips, chives and our take on a thousand island dressing made with a bit of hot sauce.
We were surprised how well this dish turned out. Very tasty and very moorish.
Just ask as he ate 3 of them today in the name of research.....

Big shout out to this absolute pillar of the Surry Hills community!
Most things in Sydney seem to come and go..... Apart from Pauline! Hopefully we can retire her soon but for now she's still there every morning to make everyone's coffee, listen to everyone's problems, and help out where she can. The culture she's created at Pieno is like nowhere else on the planet and needs to be cherished!
She embodies what international women's day is all about!
She doesn't like photos that much, so here's one of her looking like she's about to drop the hotest album of 2026
