Q&A Series: Part 2: “How did you get into this business?”

Andy always tells me, it’s one thing to know what you want… but isn’t it even more powerful to truly know what you don’t want?

And that realization is what led us here..

building something of our own, and serving you with all our heart and passion.

We’re always so grateful for everyone who continues to follow and support our journey.

We still can’t shake the nerves every time we set up for a festival or event.
There are a hundred things to lift, organise, and double-check just to make sure everything runs smoothly.. and even then, things don’t always go to plan.

That’s just part of the reality.

A business isn’t a business without a bit of chaos, no matter how prepared you are.

Yesterday tested us early. Power was our first issue, and when we finally found a source, the generator didn’t kick in. Thankfully, the organisers helped us get it going. Then, right in the middle of service, some equipment stopped working.. which, honestly, happens more often than we’d like at events like these.

So many of these things are out of our control, and we know other food business owners doing markets and festivals can relate.

But the show always goes on.

We do this for our community.

The people who show up, wait in line, check in on us, and remind us that the nerves and stress are all part of the journey.

You make it worth it every single time.

Thank you to everyone who queued, said hi, checked in, or simply showed support yesterday. Honestly, you don’t even have to buy anything to support us. A smile, a kind word, your patience in long lines.. that already fills our hearts more than you know.

Until our next festival 🤍
Or visit us at Rooty Hill 6 days a week we are always open!

People have been telling me lately that I look confident and strong.
But the truth is, that wasn’t always me.
I used to stutter when speaking in public.
I never liked being around too many people.
Most of the time, I kept my thoughts to myself and that often meant being misunderstood or overlooked.
Then I started Mix Mix Co.
And I learned something important: showing up isn’t about how confident you feel. It’s about showing up anyway.
On the days that aren’t rainbows and butterflies…
On the days when self-doubt is loud…
On the days when you’d rather hide than speak…
You still show up.
I show up for the people who believed in me.
I show up for the people who support my vision.
I show up for the mission of putting Filipino food forward through Mix Mix Co.
Confidence didn’t come first.
Commitment did.
So regardless of how I feel, regardless of who I think I am in that moment… I do it anyway.
And if I can do it, so can you.
For your vision.
And for the little version of you who’s watching.

New day new problem is the unofficial motto at Mix Mix Co. 🤣🤣🤣 and if there is something i love as much as i hate in running a business, it is the constant problem solving.
I live, breathe and created this little brand that keeps giving joy to our customers so if you don’t see me know that i’m always working behind the scene making sure one day Mix Mix Co. reaches more audience and wider communities.
Xx. So much love and gratitude,
Kim
