: These images of the Wisemans Ferry Hotel were taken in the early 1960s by Lachlan Studio in Windsor. The owners, Mr & Mrs Insley, completed the renovations in 1962 and were promoting the business in the media. There are several exterior shots as well as the bar, dining room and bistro.

The landmark Wisemans Ferry Inn was built in 1826 as the residence for ex-convict Solomon Wiseman which later become an inn. Solomon also established a ferry service across the Hawkesbury River in 1827 giving the locality its name.

Remembrance Day 2025

This Remembrance Day, join us in honouring those who gave their lives.

Service will be held at Wisemans Ferry War Memorial.
Commencing at 10.30am Tuesday 11th November.

Tuesday 11 November 2025 marks the anniversary of the Armistice that ended fighting with Germany in World War I.
Every year at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month millions around the world pause in silence to remember the sacrifice many have made so we can enjoy life today.

To get to Old Northern Road in Wisemans Ferry, there are several options for transportation.

Public transport: Take the train to Hawkesbury River Station and then catch a bus towards Wisemans Ferry. Get off at the bus stop nearest to Old Northern Road.

Driving/parking: If driving, take the M2 motorway and exit onto Castle Hill Road towards Dural. Follow this road until it becomes Old Northern Road. There is limited street parking available outside of businesses along Old Northern Road.
