UPDATE ON THE LITTLE GIRL ❤️

Her mum just called me. She is still in hospital but is doing okay. Unfortunately, she has suffered a mild concussion and 3 fractures.

She will hopefully make a full recovery, but it will be a long road ahead for her and her family. Let’s keep them in our thoughts and look after one another. 🙏🏻

A young girl was hit by a car outside Ganache this morning at around 8:15 am.

There have been multiple warnings and concerns raised about the ongoing construction and traffic situation, and unfortunately, this morning, a young girl was involved in an accident.

Thankfully, she was conscious and received medical attention very quickly, with intensive care paramedics and police arriving shortly afterwards. I sincerely hope she will be okay.

I'm already following this up with Willoughby Council and will do everything I can to push for urgent and significant changes to how the construction and surrounding traffic are being managed.

This morning was incredibly stressful and distressing for everyone involved. It's heartbreaking to see something like this happen, particularly when concerns about safety have been raised repeatedly.

The community has been asking for action, and those concerns need to be taken seriously. We cannot wait for another accident before something changes.

Hi all,

I’ve received the below from the contractor at 100 Edinburgh Road today and thought I’d share it with everyone for awareness.

I’ve also reached out to Willoughby City Council to discuss potential streetscape improvements and other issues, including parking. I’m increasingly concerned about the impact the construction is having on us day to day, and I suspect things will only get worse if we don’t start looking together at possible solutions now.

I’ll keep you updated as things progress.

Yesterday, I told you we had a little something planned for World Mental Health Day… so here it is ❤️

From Friday morning, you’ll find a big, mostly empty heart at Ganache and we’d love YOU to help us fill it.

Write a few kind words and add a heart. Take a message for yourself, a friend, a neighbour or someone who might need it. Or simply come in, say hello and have a chat.

For more than 25 years, Ganache has been part of this little community. We know your coffee orders, we watch families grow, we share the good news and sometimes the harder days too.

That’s what we love about being a neighbourhood patisserie. It’s not only about cakes, croissants and coffee… it’s about the little conversations, familiar faces and looking out for one another.

So this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, come in and leave a little kindness behind, take some with you, or simply stop by for a chat ❤️

We’ll start Friday with an almost empty heart…

💛 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY — 10 OCTOBER

Next Saturday is a particularly special day and this year we wanted to mark it in a way that feels very Ganache… by bringing our little community together.

The message for this year is “Together We Thrive”. It’s a beautiful reminder that connection, kindness and looking out for one another really matter.

So next Saturday, we’ll be doing something a little special at Ganache 🥐❤️

I’m not going to reveal too much just yet…

But it’s something close to my heart, and something I hope will bring a few smiles, a little kindness and maybe make someone’s day just a tiny bit better.

A little personal note from Vianney ❤️

Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t quite been myself lately, and some of you may even have seen me crying the last few days.

I know how incredible the community is so as a leader, I need to be transparent with everyone. Unfortunately, I’m going through an incredibly difficult personal situation that has had a very deep and, honestly, life-altering impact on me and I’m finding it incredibly difficult to process and navigate.

I just wanted to say I’m sorry if lately I haven’t been as open, cheerful, chatty or warm as I normally am when I see you at Ganache. I know many of you are used to seeing me smiling, talking to everyone and be here for everyone but at the moment, I’m just not quite there.

I’m doing my best, getting the support I need, and hopefully with a little time, I’ll find my way back to myself.

In the meantime, I want to ask something from our wonderful Ganache community.

Please keep cheering on our team!

They are doing an absolutely amazing job, and it hasn’t been easy for them either to see me struggling like this. They’ve been incredibly supportive while continuing to show up every day and give you the same care, warmth and quality they always do.

So please keep giving them your smiles, your patience, your kindness and your encouragement. They deserve it.

And maybe, while we’re at it, let’s all remember to be a little kinder to each other. You never really know what someone might be carrying.

To everyone who has noticed, checked in on me, given me a smile, a hug or simply been kind lately, thank you.

Those little moments have meant more to me than you probably realise.

I’ll be back stronger soon.

A little outside our usual day-to-day but a great experience being part of the panel at the Willoughby City Council Support local Business Showcase.

We spoke about leadership, feedback, building strong teams and, somehow, how lessons from aviation can make their way into running a French Patisserie ✈️🥐

Really enjoyed the conversation, the different perspectives and the opportunity to share a little of what we’ve learned since taking over Ganache.

Still plenty to learn but moments like this are a pretty nice reminder of how far we’ve come in a short time 🇫🇷❤️
