What people say

Como Hotel, located on Cremona Road in Sydney, is a pub and bar & grill that has a rich history dating back to 1878. As one of the oldest buildings in the Sutherland Shire, it holds an important place in the area's heritage. The hotel was originally built for German workers constructing the railway and has had a variety of owners and publicans over the years, including Australian rugby league legend Arthur Beetson.

The hotel has seen its fair share of history, having survived two world wars before succumbing to a fire in 1996. However, it was rebuilt five years later with original brickwork and even retained the burnt door salvaged from the fire in its restaurant. Affectionately known as the Como Hilton, this hotel now stands elegantly with remarkable views and shady verandas overlooking the Georges River.

Henry Lawson, one of Australia's greatest poets, lived nearby and was believed to be a frequent visitor to Como Hotel where he would recite poetry in the bar. Today, visitors can enjoy delicious food at the hotel's grill while taking in its beautiful heritage.

With trading hours from Monday to Sunday until late at night, Como Hotel is an excellent choice for those looking for a unique dining experience or just a relaxing drink with friends. Its rich history combined with modern amenities make it an unforgettable destination for locals and tourists alike.
