Spring starts tomorrow Tuesday 1/9 and with that comes the introduction of the new SLSNSW Beach Drone monitoring program including at Maroubra Beach!
This new initiative comes in addition to the return of shark nets which support listening stations for tagged sharks and drum lines.

Meet Lola, one of the wonderful faces behind The Browns Brew Co!

🤍Fun fact: Lola is the oldest of five!
🤍Outside the café: She loves reading and playing video games.
Lola has been part of the Browns Brew family for 2 years and is our ultimate all-rounder — you’ll find her behind the counter, helping in the kitchen or out on the floor, wherever she’s needed! 🤎
🤍Go-to drink: She’s not much of a coffee drinker, but you can always tempt her with a hot chocolate!
🤍Favourite menu item:
The Lani-Banani wrap with sriracha mayo.
🤍Favourite thing about Browns Brew: Meeting and connecting with people in our Maroubra community that she might not otherwise get to meet. Lola loves a good chat with everyone!

🌴🇫🇯 Bula from Fiji! 🇫🇯🌺
Today we swapped the café for the kitchen and learned how to cook some incredible traditional Fijian dishes! 🥥🍍🐟 From fresh local ingredients to authentic island flavours, every bite was packed with love, culture and a whole lot of fun.
There may have been a few laughs, a little mess, and plenty of taste testing along the way!
What an unforgettable experience and a beautiful way to learn more about the heart of Fiji. 💙 Vinaka vakalevu for having us!

🚨Only 2 weeks to go: let’s show up for Maroubra’s kids!
In exactly two weeks, we are taking over the South Maroubra SLSC to raise a crucial $10,000 for the little legends growing up at Maroubra Neighbourhood Children's Centre.
As a proud not-for-profit daycare, every single dollar from this event goes straight back into upgrading our kids' learning and play spaces.
For $40 an adult and $10 a kid, your Saturday afternoon (1 August, 2pm–6pm) is completely sorted:
• Food provided by the locals at The Browns Brew co
• Fun to tire the little ones out with a live music, face painting, and lawn games.
• Exclusive access to bid on our massive silent auction (we're talking Harry Styles tickets, a signed Rabbitohs jersey, local dining vouchers, and gym passes!).
This afternoon is built by our community, for our community. Whether you have kids at the centre or just want a family-friendly afternoon by the beach, come down, connect with the Maroubra Community, and help us smash this target for the kids.

Did you know used coffee grounds can be reused in so many amazing ways? From enriching your garden and compost to helping reduce waste, we’d love to see our coffee grounds put to good use instead of ending up in landfill.
We’re looking for individuals, gardeners, schools, community groups, or anyone who would like to collect our used coffee grounds each week.
At The Brown’s Brew Co, we’re always looking for ways to reduce waste and do our little bit for the environment. If we can help our community while caring for our planet, that’s a win-win!
