This week’s Staff Selection comes from Lachie, who’s been brewing Colombia Jairo Arcila on V60 and loving how much it gives back.
“As someone who drinks V60 most days, Colombia Jairo Arcila has been an unexpected hit for my morning routine. It’s not a coffee I usually go for, but it’s shown me that complex flavours don’t always need a complex approach.
It leans into dark chocolate and a full-bodied cup — a flavour-dense way to start the day — and it (thankfully) seems to tolerate my sometimes random brewing tweaks. A slightly finer grind brings out a sweeter, lighter fruit character — more plum and blueberry — with a softer, more tea-like finish.
It’s become a welcome surprise — not just for how it tastes, but for how it rewards small changes.”

This week’s Staff Selection comes from Ava on our Production team, who’s been loving Indonesia Frinsa Estate.
“It comes from West Java, grown by husband-and-wife duo Wildan and Atieq Mustofa, who named the farm Frinsa after their four kids: Fikri, Rifda, Nadia, Salsa (too cute).
What makes it even better is the impact behind it. The Mustofa family shared coffee seedlings with nearby vegetable farms — the coffee plants’ deeper roots help stabilise the soil during monsoon season, creating a win-win for the whole community.
In the cup, it’s bright, clean, and super drinkable — the kind of filter you can happily reach for every day.”

Paddington’s favourite blend: Troublemaker.
Chocolatey up front, nutty through the middle, with a hit of caramel sweetness at the end — full-bodied, creamy, and super smooth. It’s the kind of no-fuss coffee that suits just about everyone, whether you take it white or black.
As Ice (Our store manager) puts it: “I always have it as a piccolo. It cuts through milk well and brings out that chocolate + nut combo. It’s strong, reliable, and straight to the point. Not trying to be fancy — just a really good everyday coffee that hits every time.”

MICE week is here.
This Thursday, we’re proud to be hosting an IWCA Women in Coffee Panel at Padre Coffee at St David Dairy — a morning of conversation, connection, and coffee.
Then we’ll be at MICE across two activations:
• Roasters Playground (with Riverina Fresh and La Marzocco)
• XBloom filter brewing
On Friday, our National Sales Manager Ben White will be speaking on the panel How to Embrace Retail Coffee in your Business (12:45–1:30pm) — sharing insights on building retail into your coffee offering.
Breville will also be featuring our coffee for parts of the event — so there’ll be a lot of Padre around.

This week’s Staff Selection comes from Jarrod, who’s been reaching for Troublemaker while visiting Paddington.
“Troublemaker has plenty of body and acidity, but still well-balanced, whether it’s cut with milk or as an espresso.
This is the blend that keeps the masses happy. Your classic ‘bread and butter’ coffee that works for everyone.
Whether you take it hot, cold, white or black, Troublemaker shows up.
It probably won’t keep you out of trouble… but at least you’ll be caffeinated.”

On International Women’s Day, I want to take a moment to recognise the incredible women across the Padre Coffee team. 💜☕
From leading our production facilities to shaping our strategy, building our brand, running our cafés and supporting customers - women are making an impact in every corner of the business.
One of the things I’m most proud of is that this isn’t aspirational - it’s already happening. We have women leading key parts of our business, a predominantly female leadership team, and talented women contributing across every function.
And our support for women in coffee goes beyond our own team. As an industry, we also have a responsibility to support the incredible women at origin who play such a vital role in growing and producing the coffee we all love.
IWD is a great reminder to celebrate the progress being made, while continuing to create opportunities for women across the coffee community. 💜✨
