Owner Adam and roaster Fanfan recently headed to Shenzhen, China to check out Cafeex China for 3 massive days of coffee. From putting their palates to the test to hearing different perspectives from all corners of the industry, there was plenty of inspiration, and plenty of coffee consumed.
A stop at Mantoo Studio in Chengdu was a highlight, where owner Mantoo brewed LICR Ora blend using a method completely new to us. An espresso shot pulled, topped up with water - unbelievable! Besides good coffee, there was plenty of inspiration here to bring back to the Northern Beaches.
Next stop, Promax Coffee in Guangzhou, where outstanding coffee met great coffee. Serving up some of our LICR faves with different equipment, different approaches, but the same obsession for a delicious cup. 10/10 experience.
Not coffee, but still very cool, a delicious cold-brew tea in Shenzhen. Serving up a good reminder that inspiration for good coffee can come from beyond the bean. From a unique brewing method to the wonderful hospitality, it all makes the experience.
