Directions to the pub:
Public transport:
- Take the train to Penrith Station.
- From there, take Bus Route 779 (towards St Marys) and get off at High St near Evan St.
- Walk north on High St for about 300m and the pub will be on your left.
Driving/parking:
- Take the M4 motorway west towards Penrith.
- Take exit 23 and turn right onto Mulgoa Rd (signs for Penrith).
- Turn left onto Woodriff St and follow it until it becomes High St.
- The pub will be on your right. There is limited parking available in front of the pub, but more parking can be found in nearby streets.

William George Jordan built the hotel in 1877 and leased it in 1889 to Charles Amos Messenger, a champion sculler who had all his trophies on display. It's no surprise that rowing club meetings were held there.
Luxury accommodation was one of the most important aspects of the Tattersalls Hotel. Many weddings were held there, and railway men were also catered for with showers, plunge baths, and annex quarters to stay between shifts.
