Bottle shop's gone local this week. Sew & Sew, both ways.
The GSM: cherry red, strawberry and plum up front, a bit of ginger and cinnamon behind it. The Fiano: white peach, pear, a chalky finish with a dash of honey. $22 each in the shop, $55 at the bar. Cases: Carlton Dry $54, Great Northern Super Crisp $50.

The roast beef's carving, the BBQ glazed pork ribs are on - $30 half, $50 full with corn ribs, feta and chips - and Lawson's playing the garden from 1pm. Dad's afternoon sorted: Dragons v Eels at 2, then the Tigers meet Penrith at 4.05.

Nobody’s ever regretted a Wednesday here. Not one we’ve heard about, anyway.

To get to Mullens Street in Sydney, you can take the bus or train and get off at the Balmain ferry stop. From there, walk about five minutes west on Thames Street until you reach Mullens Street.
If driving, take Victoria Road heading west and turn left at Darling Street. Follow it for about a kilometer and then turn right onto Beattie Street. Turn left at Reynolds Street and then right onto Mullens Street.
Parking is available along the street, but may be limited during peak hours. Alternatively, there is a parking garage nearby at 2 Rowntree St, Birchgrove.
