Making marshmallows for spring and this week newsletter ~ but not just any marshmallows.

Think of them as little edible clouds for the gut: soft, playful and made with ingredients chosen to nourish from within.

Blue spirulina brings the colour of spring skies, while berries and rose add a gentle floral sweetness: a little reminder that supporting our inner garden can be just as beautiful as tending to the one outside.

Spring is a season of awakening, and I love bringing that feeling into the kitchen & pottery

It’s official ~ my Intuitive Eating cookbook is officially sold out!

When I first self-published it through crowdfunding in 2018, I could never have imagined how much this book would bring to me : and to others. It was created as an invitation to put technology aside, immerse ourselves more deeply in nature, and reconnect with our intuitive knowledge, the seasons, and the world around us.

It has travelled to every corner of the world, and I hope it will continue to be treasured for years to come.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. 🤍

A little collaboration with one of my favourite brands, Loco Love Chocolate ✨
A more magical kind of chocolate ~ made with intention, wholesome ingredients and a deep respect for the earth.
I’ve been so grateful to witness this company grow from its very beginnings into the beautiful, meaningful brand it is today. Our ethics and love for conscious food run very deeply in the same direction.

I’ve created and shared the recipe for the Yin & Yang cookies I’ve been making lately on their blog.
I love these cookies because they remind me of the balance we’re always seeking in life : the light and the dark, the soft and the strong, the yin and the yang. ✨
And if I’m ever going to use an ingredient that I haven’t made from scratch, I’d happily recommend Loco Love Chocolate Mylk or Dark Chocolate Drops. They’re a beautiful little invitation to experiment and bring some magic into your kitchen.
I created these cookies with them, and I think they make the perfect addition

The Yin&Yang symbol is that balance doesn’t mean keeping everything equal or separate. Each side contains a little of the other ~ just as softness can hold strength, and stillness can hold movement. Perhaps that’s why these cookies feel so fitting: two different energies, coming together to create something whole. ✨

I’m sharing both vegan and non-vegan versions of these cookies, so everyone from every walk of life can experiment and find their own little bit of kitchen witchcraft as I use in my cook Books .

It’s been a while since we’ve had a few friends over for long chats, fires and shared dinners. With the evenings warming up again, I think this will become a regular thing once more.

Our neighbour Mather brought his turkey eggs - they are becoming regular too .
Mathew is the most passionate person about everting Chicken / turkey repeated .
The egg holders will be added to my next batch of pottery release

I make Czech goulash - two versions - one vegetarian and one slow cooked with kangaroo meat . You can find the recipe on my Substack as well as recipe for the crispy potato’s which were shared with the goulash .

The assistants

We discovered this amazing wild olive oil.
The older gentleman who makes it walks on his own through the South Australian bush, picking wild olives and carrying them in his backpack. He then hand-presses them at home.
We use it to make crispy potatoes and homemade chips with plenty of rock salt, and the flavour is absolutely amazing.
I think he’ll be selling a couple of bottles this coming Wednesday at the Newrybar Markets. He’s not on social media, but his passion for olive oil is enormous.

We have been making plenty of curries recently and my sister inflows drops off basket full of veggies for us from her . This one is cauliflower tikka masala and you can also find the recipe on my substack .

The veggie box - this one also has a produce our friend Chrystal grown in her garden .

Winter has been full of fishing trips for us lately , although, to be honest, the fish haven’t been biting much!

The surf has been glorious ..

So I turned to something we all seem to crave on those cold, chilli evenings: a slow-cooked, comforting stew with deep, rich flavours.

But there’s no meat in this one.

It’s JACKFRUIT. 🌿
With the right sauce, spices and a little slow cooking, jackfruit takes on an incredibly meaty texture :almost like pulled pork or shredded beef. It’s one of those dishes where you might genuinely forget you’re not eating meat. Recipe is now on my Substack

We made a big pot and enjoyed it over a few days , after the fishing or surf trips ;with potato or celeriac mash and plenty of green vegetables, tucked into tacos, or piled into sandwiches.

Jackfruit isn’t in season here at the moment, but you can easily find it canned in health food shops and selected stores. It’s such a simple plant-based alternative when you’re craving those rich, savoury, slow-cooked flavours and the fish is not biting , whether you don’t eat meat or simply feel like taking a little break from it.

A bowl of winter comfort, straight from the pot.

Every day congee ~ on repeat 🧚
With soft boiled eggs from our chickens
~ this weeks Substack recipe traveling to your inbox

Daisy who gives us Blue eggs

Congee is one of those beautifully simple meals that reminds us nourishment doesn’t have to be complicated. Slow-cooked until soft and creamy , it’s gentle on digestion and easy for the body to absorb. Whether you’re recovering from illness, supporting your gut, or simply craving something warm and grounding, congee is a timeless bowl of must try .

In a world that celebrates doing more, what if our bodies are just asking us to slow down instead? Just as rice transforms through hours of gentle cooking: not rushing, but softening: perhaps we, too, become stronger when we allow ourselves time to rest, nourish, and simply be.

How can one have so much love for chickens ?

Surfing the waves of life

I have been surfing with Roos Roos over 10 years - we share the same passion for ocean

There was some fresh cough fish on fire too

🐟

Rolling fresh pasta has always reminded me of life. You begin with simple ingredients, and then, with patience, you keep folding, pressing, and stretching the dough. If you rush it, it tears. If you force it, it resists. But if you give it time to rest, it becomes softer, stronger, and easier to shape.

🍝

The recipe is on Substack now

And in your inbox this week 🌞

🌊

The wild horse reminds us of the part of ourselves that longs to be free, curious, and true to our own nature. It doesn’t ask for permission to run or compare its path to another: it simply follows its instincts and trusts the journey ahead. Perhaps that’s its greatest lesson: that real strength comes not from controlling life, but from having the courage to move with it, even when the destination is unknown.

Happy bday Tassie
