School holidays and a rainy weekend? We have you covered with slow-time activities for both adults and kids!
Homemade Lion’s Mane ravioli in a clear broth. The recipe travelled into your inbox this week, and it’s also available via my Substack :a place where I share what I love to make.
“I’ve always been fascinated by how much LIONS MAME mushrooms resemble a tiny brain, and how herbalists have long valued them for supporting memory, focus, and cognitive function. Nature often seems to leave little clues for us, as though plants and mushrooms quietly reveal their gifts through their very shape and form.”

Wild indigo & Napolitan Organic cakes , medicinal & wild flowers , prebiotic vanilla sponge with berries & tea tree - v, gf, df , refined sugarfree
My love affair with nature runs so deep that I cannot be content as a mere observer or nature tourist. I long for a relationship that is intimate, creative, and reciprocal. Through the food-as-medicine creations I craft, and the Earth Cakes I bring to life, infused with the wisdom, nourishment, and healing gifts of the natural world, I enter into a communion with nature itself. Each ingredient meaningfull, each remedy prepared, and each cake created becomes an expression of gratitude, connection, and reverence. In this way, my work is more than nourishment; it is a living conversation with the Earth and with the Divine intelligence that animates all of creation.

How to Make Traditional Czech Rye & Caraway Bread
This is an easy version of traditional Czech rye and caraway bread, made with dry yeast instead of a fermented sourdough starter.
Back home, the traditional method uses a naturally fermented sourdough starter, but this simplified recipe is quick, straightforward, and perfect for making while you’re away camping.
I’ll be sharing the full recipe this afternoon in my newsletter, including instructions for baking it at home or over the campfire.🌿

It’s rainy season here in the Northern Rivers, Australia. Lately our days have been spent working, or outside in our wetsuits trying to catch dinner or a few waves 🏄♀️ something that always feels like medicine to me.
We’ve also been sleeping in the caravan with my son because we’ve been missing that cosy camping feeling. There’s something really special about lying in there while the rain falls on the roof.
And after long wet days, coming home to the boys licking their plates clean after hot apple crumble and the grounding autumn recipes I’ve been sharing on Substack warms my soul too.
