One year at the CANESS table.
Looking back on our first chapter feels surreal. The first brand mockups with .sydney , the early venue sketches with , choosing our very first crockery — somehow it all still feels vivid.
What began as conversations, moodboards, and late-night ideas slowly became the space you know today. A cosy space designed to feel welcoming and unpretentious. A buzzing dining room that keeps things simple, bold, and full of flavour.
To our partners, collaborators, friends, and the thousands of people who have sat at our table over the past year — thank you for being part of the story.
Chapter one, done properly. On to the next ☝🏻

Some more of what’s to come.
This party means a lot to us. Not just because CANESS is turning one, but because it’s given us a reason to bring together chefs and people we genuinely admire, create a menu that feels close to our heart, and celebrate with the community that’s carried us through this past year.
Opening a venue in times like these hasn’t always been easy, which is why every person who’s walked through our doors, brought a friend back, ordered a second drink, or stayed a little longer at the table has meant more than you probably realise.
This day is our way of giving some of that love back — through good food, good drinks, and good energy in our cosy tapas bar.
If CANESS has ever felt like your kind of place, we’d really love to see you on the 24th 🪑
