These are the families who tend one to four hectares each, three generations deep on the same volcanic slopes, who harvest as one every season. This is what we mean by direct trade: no middlemen, just people we've sat with, whose coffee we've drunk, whose names we know. A handshake means more than any spreadsheet ever could.

Most coffee arrives as a delivery and stops there. We think about cafés differently, because we've stood behind them. Early mornings, broken grinders, staff shortages, a busy Saturday followed by a dead Tuesday. That's where our advice comes from, real shifts on a real floor, and it lands in a way a brochure rarely does. When a café comes to us, it's rarely just about kilos. Usually something isn't working, and the job is to help fix it. We'd rather see your café run more profitably, more smoothly, and be a better place to work. That's the whole point of the partnership. Mount Yasur has been erupting for over 800 years. Every eruption drops fresh mineral ash onto Tanna Island's slopes, building an earth so deep and nutrient-dense that no other origin can copy it. This kind of ground takes centuries to make, and it cannot be moved or rushed. The families who farm these volcanic slopes read the land season after season, the same way three generations before them did. Every bag we roast begins here, in soil that has been working long before any of us arrived. 🌱
