Coffee, in our own backyard.
For the last two decades, sourcing coffee has taken us across continents — long days travelling between farms, washing stations and exporters, following the journey from cherry to cup.
This time, the journey was shorter. Not days, just hours.
We’re proud to partner with Jack Murat Coffee, a family-run specialty coffee farm in Far North Queensland. What was once a to***co farm has been thoughtfully transformed into a coffee farm, fourteen years in the making.
Over the past year, we’ve seen firsthand the care, patience and hard work behind what they’re building; quietly pushing Australian coffee forward with intention and integrity. We have visited the farm, had plenty conversations, cupped, tasted, roasted and brewed with the crew and finally, our expression of No.27 - a natural process Catuai expressing wild and funky notes of red apple and hazelnut.
This release is about curiosity. Supporting local growers. And working with like-minded humans who care deeply about the future of coffee.

From Saturday 27th December to Sunday 3rd January, Glenmore Road hours will be shorter, so we can enjoy the beautiful Sydney summer and spend that extra time spending it with family and mates.

2025 - 20 Years of Mecca Coffee
It’s been a huge chapter — turning 20, Alexandria turning 10, Glenmore Road turning 1 — and quietly rolling out a new visual identity behind the scenes.
New logo, new icons, new packaging, new cups...
A rebrand of this scale doesn’t happen in isolation. Before we thank the creative team behind the project, we want to acknowledge the many people who have shaped Mecca Coffee over the past two decades—our staff, wholesale partners, exporters, producers, suppliers, every mate and customer who has been part of the journey. There are too many to mention and you know who you are.
Thank you. Your support is the reason we’re here, 20 years on.
We’ve been heads down building, celebrating less than we should but this refresh is a reset and the start of a new and dynamic chapter.
So a massive kudos to Chris Doyle & Emma Van De Werken —12 months in the making and now officially out in the world.

Farewell and thanks for the memories 👋👋👋
From pouring shots at our legendary King Street store to sticking approx 100k + stickers on coffee bags and greeting those coffees out the warehouse, Jacob is one who’s worn many hats ( & probably a beanie and an oversized hoodie 3 sizes too big) at Mecca Coffee over the last five years.
Through lockdowns, rebuilds, and the lead-up to our 20th year, he’s been part of the backbone—and always up for a laugh, a run and a ride.
While marketing has been a little delayed in saying our farewells, better late than never. 🙃
Now he’s off on a European adventure, we say thank you. For the grit, the conspiracy theory chats, and for being part of the crew. Safe travels, mate —on two wheels or two feet, wherever the road takes you!
