In honour of Marika ❤️
This year’s COA Bridge Tournament held a very special meaning as we remembered our much-loved volunteer and accomplished bridge player, Marika Pogany, who tragically lost her life on December 14.
In her honour, the Marika Pogany Memorial Trophy will now be awarded each year to a bridge player who reflects the wonderful qualities Marika brought to the game and to our community.
It was especially meaningful that the inaugural trophy was awarded to Agi Sterling, Marika’s close friend and regular bridge partner.
A beautiful way to remember Marika and the lasting impact she had on so many. May her memory be a blessing. ❤️

We’re thrilled to share that COA has received funding from Woollahra Municipal Council to revitalise our front garden! 🌿
COA staff Rebecca Sheehy and Jackie Ryker recently met with Cr Sarah Dixson, Mayor of Woollahra, to officially receive the funding and celebrate the exciting project ahead.
We’re looking forward to giving our front garden a refresh and creating a beautiful, welcoming entrance for everyone who visits COA.
This project is proudly supported by Woollahra Municipal Council.

🏆 We are so honoured that COA has been named Volunteer Team of the Year, recognising the incredible efforts of the Bondi Support Response Meals Volunteer Team.
During one of the most difficult times our community has faced, volunteers came together to sort, pack and urgently deliver meals to those who needed them.
A huge thank you to JCA for their support which made this happen, to our wonderful caterers, and to the COA team who worked tirelessly to make it all happen.
This award belongs to everyone who came together when our community needed it most. ❤️

Join us for a thought provoking Mens Club this Wednesday and hear from our guest speaker, Sue Hofbauer.
Inspired by the fascinating book The Bible Unearthed by renowned Israeli archaeologist Israel Finkelstein, Sue will explore the lively and often controversial world of biblical archaeology. How can archaeologists examine the same sites and use the same scientific methods, yet reach completely different conclusions? And can the Bible’s foundational stories be supported by archaeological evidence?
Sue will explore both the minimalist and maximalist interpretations, presenting the arguments and evidence from each perspective and leaving you to decide where the evidence leads.
