Artist's for Palestine update:
We've locked in a venue and are so happy to be teaming up with the good people at Addi Road.
The Addi Road hall (and garden) has a capacity of over 1,000 guests and the stage will be set for all our Artists / Musicians.
The picture above was drawn by an artist from Palestine, with the devastation of Gaza in the background. This artist is what inspired our Artist's for Palestine event. We'll talk more about this in another posts, but for now we will focus on the drawing:
Rosanna Barbero, CEO of Addison Road Community Organisation, is an unsung hero of the Inner West community. She has dedicated decades of work across aid and development in women's rights, human rights and environmental justice. Rosanna has not only stood firm against racism and discrimination but has fought hard for indigenous communities and stongly advocated for a Free Palestine.
Rosanna is the daughter of World War ll ltalian Migrants, and was born and raised in Bankstown.
Her generosity has continued with us, by very kindly donating the entire venue hire fee to the Artist's for Palestine charities.
Thank you for everything you've done, Rosanna!

We have some very exciting news to share and the timing is perfect, it seems, given the response to Macklemore’s most recent display of unwavering courage & solidarity.
Briefly, Artists for Palestine will include a line up of formidable & big hearted Australian talent, coming together to raise much needed funds for Palestinian charities & causes.
For now, please save the date.
And we’ll share more details soon.

Archie, our little slam poet, wrote this all by himself and performed it at his primary school recently to a rousing reception.
We've been contemplating whether to share it here, and decided it was too good not to.
We are so very proud of him.
Onwards and upwards to the next generation, who are not curuptable, like our politicians...

This morning's result was bitter sweet. Congratulations to both Australia and Egypt for making us proud.
Mohamed Salah, well done for showing your champion qualities when paying respect to the Aussie team before celebrating with your own team. And Head Coach, Hossam Hassan, you're a bloody legend for dedicating the victory to both the people of Egypt and of Palestine.
For so long, being an Aussie Egyptian observing from afar, Egypt's inaction with regards to Palestine has been disheartening. But it's not because of the people, it's because of the ineptitude (AKA being bought out) by the likes of el-Sisi, Starmer, Biden, Trump, Albo.....
Head coach Hossam showed that people are powerful and leaders are weak!

Hello Legends!
Cairo Takeaway is still on a high after our court win earlier this week. We can't think of a better way to celebrate with you than to join together in the early hours of Saturday morning to watch Australia Vs Egypt.
All are welcome, so rock your team colours and your keffiyehs!!!
Doors open at 3:45ish; kick-off is at 4 am.
Please note, we will not be providing food or drinks, but we are happy to go on a coffee run.

Hi All,
We are super excited to be rolling out a big TV in our tiny venue to watch the World Cup Football match between Egypt and Iran tomorrow at Cairo Takeaway.
We'd love for you all to come along to watch the match with us.
