We fought through another 2years.
THE DAY HAS COME..
DOORS WILL SERVE OUR LAST COFFEES AND MAMAS BREKKIE WRAPS ON THE 5TH FEB! π«ΆπΎπ’
It breaks our heart, for the second time another local has put on another petition attempt to help keep us here.
Sadly this looks to be the last BB espresso being served. Developers win π
Feel free to show some love and support in signing the link in bio or below.

Over the last 14years Bayswater Bru started as a family affair. Headed by Mama Sovanna and us 3 kids all doing our Asian rightful passage of work life contribution.
You've seen different staff and baristas come through.
But for 14yrs.. 6days a week. Mama is the heart and soul of Bayswater Bru π
She is The Mama of the Cross!
We survived lock out laws and Covid. Businesses were shutting, visitors no longer visiting and locals fleeing..
But with the support of all the locals we kept alive.
Bru wasn't your snubby Eastern suburbs cafe.
I know for a lot was like an extension of your kitchen/ living room.
Your local salicious gossip hub.
The spot to catch a tan and people watch for beautiful fit humans or celebrities.
A matchmaking spot. Networking station. The Hangover cure. For some, your seamstress/ tailor. Your token Asian mother who would give you total utter blunt truth, her version of Engrish. Your breakup/ life therapist.
But most of all it was a community.. A family!
Her language of love was acts of service..and food. And she gave so much love to her extended kids and family!
Singles marry. Couple separate. Babies born. People pass on. Those live out their wildest dreams.
We've made amazing friends and I can say Mama is deep down heart broken because this was not how she wanted to end this journey.
β€οΈFrom our family to all those who have loved on, supported and cared. Orkun!! (Thank you) π’β€οΈ
***I am planning a SURPRISE farewell drinks for Mama. For the locals and Brusters who would like to join.
TBA on venue in KX but it will be the FRI 7 Feb afternoon! OR dm
Otherwise come visit and say bye before then!
LAST SERVICE WED 5 FEB π
Now it's time for Mama to have a holiday!

Friends and family we need your support.
It saddens us that our cafe headed by Mama Sovanna for the last 12 years in the heart of Potts Point (Kings Cross) has been given notice to evacuate by new buyers of the building by the 14th January.
If anyone knows running your own business is challenging. We've survived the lock out laws, covid.. just the stress of hospitality. Nothing would compare to being forced out.
My mother has grown this business to be a staple of Potts Point scenery treating customers and locals as her own.
We would love it you could show your support and sign our petition to keep in Potts Point alive. If you would share that would be amazing.
What would Potts Point be without Mamas brekkie wraps, roadside gossip, friendly smiles and of course coffee.
Please Support the small businesses!!
If you would sign our petition and share we would sincerely love and appreciate the support.
Link in bio. Thanks all. Love and appreciate you. As mama Sovanna would!!! β€οΈ

In light of what is going on. We are still open for trading (at this stage). There is no reprieve for small businesses. We value and appreciate our amazing clientele for the last 8 years and new visitors. We just please ask, be mindful for health concerns and the welfare of those around you... Because at Potts Point we are all family:
- Take away ONLY (dont worry Mamas Brekkie wraps will be given the same attention)
- No keepcups
- respect everyones personal space
We will update of any changes. But your local spot has you caffeinated
