Coral trout over the char grill, finished with crustacean butter and harissa oil. The technique takes years to master, the flavour philosophy is Japanese, and the produce is among the finest Australia has to offer. At Saké all elements come together in dishes that are quietly extraordinary.

In Japan, sakura is a reminder that beauty is fleeting, and that the most meaningful things deserve to be savoured slowly.

Our Sakura menu at Saké The Rocks was built with that same intention. Five courses that move through the season with purpose: wagyu beef sashimi dressed in spicy soy with mentaiko crisp. Pink snapper tempura, lifted with nori salt and amazu ponzu. Blue eye cod with ankimo sauce, ikura, and a squid ink cracker that arrives like punctuation.
Then the centrepiece - wagyu sirloin MB6+, charred and rested, finished with black garlic and a balsamic soy reduction that has no interest in being rushed.
It closes, as sakura should, with something delicate. Sakura strawberry mochi, cherry blossom syrup, dried raspberries. A dessert that knows when the season is ending.
Available at The Rocks until April 30.

Sakura season has arrived at Saké The Rocks 🌸

The sakura season has always been about paying attention. To what is on the plate. To who is across the table. To the fact that some things only come around once a year.

The Sakura menu at Saké The Rocks moves through five courses with that same quiet intention. It opens with clam miso soup and wagyu beef sashimi, dressed in spicy soy and finished with a mentaiko crisp.
The middle of the menu belongs to the sea. Pink snapper in tempura with nori salt and amazu ponzu. Blue eye cod with ankimo sauce and shumai steamed prawn dumplings.

Then, the star of the table is the wagyu sirloin MB6+ with black garlic and balsamic soy. A dish that doesn't ask for your attention, it earns it.

It ends with sakura strawberry mochi, cherry blossom syrup, and dried raspberries. Soft, floral, and gone before you want it to be. Much like the season itself.

Available until April 30 at Saké The Rocks. Explore the menu and make a reservation: sakerestaurant.com.au

What people say

Saké Restaurant & Bar The Rocks is an award-winning Japanese restaurant and bar located on Argyle Street in Sydney. The restaurant recently hosted Chef Yuya Nishimura from Michelin-starred Sushi Yuuden in Osaka for a series of intimate dinners, which was a huge success. The guests who attended the special dinners were treated to an unforgettable dining experience, thanks to the efforts of Saké Brand Culinary chef Shimpei Hatanaka and the tremendous Saké teams.

One of the highlights of Saké Restaurant & Bar The Rocks is their robata grill, which uses an ancient method of cooking over an open flame to create a smoky, charred flavor that is truly unique. Guests can enjoy king brown mushroom skewers, chicken wing skewers, and other delicious dishes straight from the flame.

If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Sydney, be sure to visit Saké Restaurant & Bar The Rocks and try their amazing food and drinks. Bookings can be made through their website at www.sakerestaurant.com.au.
